LORAM RG401 - the next generation of Rail Grinding Equipment

American Traction Systems has sucessfully comissioned the new RG401 Rail Grinder built by LORAM.
ATS designed and manufactured the two 2000HP propulsion systems used to power this 670ft machine.
Each ATS traction system includes the main rectifier, four 1500 Amp armature controllers, one field controller and a dynamic brake module.

The ATS modular rack assembly provides automatic wheel slip and spin control and automatic regerative braking down to zero mph.

This is the first of 3 systems ordered by LORAM for delivery in 2010.
